Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!
Dear Monday, There's something about knowing a 4-day weekend is upon me that makes you much more bearable.

Dear Bananas, While you are certainly helping kick my new-found leg cramps, I do not appreciate you rubbing your scent off on my crackers.  Banana flavored Ritz are no beuno.

Dear Joann's Employee, After looking (with no success) for chevron fabric for baby's crib skirt, I decided to approach you and ask for help.  When asked, "Do you have any red or navy blue chevron fabric?" you responded, "Like, the car?"  Oh, Lordy.  Let the crafting Gods help you... And me.

Dear Hurricane Issac, Please lay off the Gulf Coasters and do not disrupt our upcoming vaca to Destin.

Dear Food Aversion, I'm beginning to shy away from food that is warm/hot and really gravitate towards cold stuff.  Weird.

Dear Life, I think I've had enough of your lessons and reminders for one year.  Thanks.

Dear Hubby, While you were golfing on Saturday, I would receive random texts from you.  Most of them including some variation of, "Babe. These clubs are awesome."  So happy you are happy with a big purchase that you deserved.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!

Dear Monday, Even a three-day weekend wasn't enough rest for me to be able to come at you full force.  We'll try again next week.

Dear Fall Semester, Ugh. Up until today I felt motivated and ready for the semester to begin. My motivation has quickly faded and I am now intimidated after reading through my syllabi. Why did I want to go back to school, again?

Dear Ocean Get-Away, You were far more relaxing than either Ryan or I anticipated.  Strolling on the beach, searching for sand dollars, and just chatting was exactly what I needed.

The lovebirds

Pretty sand ripples

Dear Brock & Sonny, Apparently this morning I failed to close the cage doors before leaving for work.  Luckily Grandpa came to check on you.  Oopsie.

Dear Florida and Favorite In-Laws, Only two and a half weeks until our vaca.  This lady is super excited.

Dear Hubby, I'd say that yesterday you had the man day of man day's. You purchased a new set of golf clubs and ate crab legs at Hooters. It doesn't get much better than that, does it?

Take Luck,

Dear Monday

Linking up for Dear Monday with Megan!
Dear Monday, Totally could have used another day off of work to recuperate from my trip last week.  Alas, I had to get my booty outta bed.

Dear Prenatal Yoga, Yesterday was one of those "how embarrassing" moments that now sits on top of my embarrassing moments list.  We were discussing pregnancy things and I was stretching out my calves and hamstrings.  Then it happened - I tooted.  Out loud.  I have read and read about this "problem" in my pregnancy books/weekly updates, and the public escape finally happened.  Ugh.

Dear 22 Weeks, Hello belly explosion.  I have never been so happy to take my pants off... And it's only going to get worse.

Dear Beck, You, my favorite artsy-farsty queen, are putting together baby's nursery wall.  I cannot wait to see your vision turn into reality.

Dear Tiffer, You, my favorite new seamstress are going to make baby's crib skirts.  Between the many maxi skirts you've sent me (hello, lifesavers) and this - I feel very spoiled by your talents.

Dear Hubby, This morning you asked me to print off one of baby's ultrasound photos to put in your apprenticeship portfolio - under accomplishments.  Enter heart melting and misty eyes here.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!
Dear Monday, My alarm was not a welcomed sound (as if it ever is!) this morning and I was afraid you were going to suck.  Thankfully, you didn't.

Dear Kennedy and Riley, I loved getting to spend so much time with you this weekend.  However, I think it's going to take this baby-cooking-mama this whole week to recover.  My constant requests to have some of your energy were laughed at.  I was serious.

Dear Baby Peters, Only 3 more days until we get to see your face (and your genitalia).  There are a lot of people in your life who are very excited for this day!

Dear 20 Weeks, Goo!  We're rapidly working our way through the produce department in terms of baby's size and halfway done with this pregnancy.  Ca-razy.

Dear Hubby, I came home to two separate surprises from you this weekend.  The first, you assembled baby's crib.  The second, you cut up all of Brock's chicken for the week (that's 10+ pounds, people).  I would have never guessed that furniture assembly and the dissection of poultry would make me swoon.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!
Dear Monday, Holy exhaustion.  I needed a caffeine IV/drip fixated in my arm today.

Dear Blogging Break, You were totally unintentional but not at all surprising considering my level of exhaustion lately.  See above.

Dear Kitchen Upgrade: I cannot tell you how much of a weight has been lifted knowing that you are complete.  I have been admiring our countertops for over four months now, but because the backsplash wasn't done - I didn't feel like I could completely enjoy them.  As of yesterday, I can.  Now, if we only had appliances that matched.  Ho hum.

Dear Baby Peters, Only 10 more days and we will know if you are a boy or a girl.  Let me tell ya - the suspense is killing me.

Dear 19 Weeks, My tummy is slowly expanding and rounding.  This very well be my last week in regular pants.  Bring on stretchy waist bands and forgiving panels of elastic.

Dear Hubby, I can't thank you enough for all of your hard work on the kitchen... Or for your kindness in the fact that this was all my grand idea and I was completely useless throughout the whole endevour.

I'm cooking up a countertop-saga post that shows the great kitchen transition over the last four months.  I know you are just drooling with excitement, but hold your horses.

Take Luck,

Dear Monday

Writing Dear Monday letters for the week with Megan.

Dear Monday, My three-day weekend was jam packed.  I needed another Sunday before being shoved back into my 5am wake-up routine.

Dear Rachy's Graduation Party, I cannot speak for everyone, but Ryan and I had a great time.  Perhaps the greatest entertainment was me continually circling the food table sans plate and noshing on everything in sight, the "baby tigers" that were crawling through the living room, and the "monster" that was tormenting the baby tigers.  I can't say enough about how proud we are of our Rachy.

Riley the Monster

Ara, Baby Tiger #1

Kennedy, Baby Tiger #2

Dear Tiff, I'm thinking that whenever I make my trip to Ohio (in the near future), we should have a Star Wars marathon.  Just a thought.

Dear Kennedy, On Friday, you were completely obsessed with my little tummy and the baby growing inside - touching, pressing your ear to listen, talking to him/her, and lifting my shirt to get a better look (not at all awkward).  If anyone else had continually told me, "You're getting fatter..." I may have cried a little.  But because it was you, I'll let it slide.  Especially since you offered to give the baby your blanky.  You reminded me that you do have two!  I love you, kiddo.

Dear 15 Weeks, Where on earth did you come from?  My belly is slowly expanding and I'm totally OK with that.  The baby went from the size of a lemon last week, to a naval orange this week.  No wonder Kennedy tells me I'm getting fatter.

Dear Sadness and Grief, You are serving as a constant reminder to me to be happy, grateful, and make sure the people in my life know that I love them.  Life is far too short and fragile to get caught up in the weather, the monotony of work, and other unimportant things.

Dear Ryan, Our conversation topics are obviously evolving.  I think it's quite hysterical that we talk about baby stuff while watching American Ninja Warrior.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!
Dear Monday, Funky butt-loving, what a day.  I got tasked out the wazzu and am looking forward to the challenges this job will hold.

Dear #40milesinJune, I have been lacking in the energy department for the last several weeks but decided to hop on the bandwagon, anyway.  Better late than never, right?!

Dear Bills, The fact that you are coming in and are due in the month of July really blows my mind.  How is it already mid-June?

Dear Baby News, I am happy I finally put you out on the blogosphere.  I have been pretty firm on my decision to wait to share our news, and I am happy I did.  Of course I've been slowly telling my "people" since we found out but I have been anti-social media distribution until now.  Hooray for pregnancy blogs and stories!

Dear Tile Backsplash, It's been three months since our countertops were installed and I am overjoyed to say that we are finally making some progress.  And I mean we are making progress as in, Ryan and Frank are making progress.

Dear Sar, Thank you for the sweetest shout out on your blog today.  It warms my heart greatly to have a friend like you.  Come to think of it, the next time you see me - I'll be toting a baby!  P.S. Ryan loved his Father's Day card.

Dear Hubby, I didn't know you were up to such shenanigans when you went to Lowe's on Sunday morning and came home with "belated Mother's Day gifts."  The best part was when you said, "They didn't have any Mother's Day cards!!" and seemed genuinely annoyed by this.  Normally, when a holiday such as Mother's Day is a month overdue, they put away those greeting cards.  You are the best ever. Thank you for making me laugh... And laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!
Dear Monday, I would have appreciated a good night's sleep after a very long and busy weekend... But, no.  Let's see if we can't change this tonight.

Dear Kennedy, I asked your Mommy yesterday how your little puffy lip was doing.  She told me that it wasn't so puffy, but a little black and blue.  Awesome.  Now you look like you've been assaulted.  Aunt of the year, right here.

Dear Baby Alex, Your Mommy and Daddy came over to watch a movie with us on Friday night, and I had the pleasure of spending more time looking at your cute face than actually watching the movie!  The best part was when you fell asleep on me and we snuggled for quite some time.  I totally hated that.

Dear Comcast, I called for help this evening and I swore that if your customer service lady said, "Uh yes, Miss Peters..." one more time - I was going to scream.  And make punching motions with my fist.

Dear New Job, We will get real acquainted with each other on Monday.  Now if only this week would fly by.  It gets challenging when I have transitioned all of my work already.  Hmmm.

Dear Hubby, We had dinner at Azteca the other night and when asked for your order, you asked for a "Pico de Gallo Burrito."  The waiter looked at your with a very puzzled expression, and we then determined you meant to order a "Carne Asada Burrito."  Sheesh.  Let's stay away from Mexico.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday
Dear Monday, Not only did I come to work late today, but I left early.  It was glorious.  I do, however, wish that I hadn't passed our department head on my way in and out.  Either that or I should have shouted a disclaimer, "I swear I have approved leave!"

Dear New Samsung Washer and Dryer, Uhm hello!  I love you already.  You are sleek and fabulous, and make the cutest little chiming noise when you finish washing and drying our clothes.  The best part is that this noise is very intriguing to the Brocky Boy and he tilts his head at the sound of it.

Dear Brock, Speaking of you.  Stop tormenting Sonny.  The last two mornings you have caused her to hide underneath the bed and refuse to come out.  This is a game I am growing very tired of.

Dear Webb Family, I ordered some of Liam's six-month (what the what?!) photos from snapfish.  They arrived today and I quickly ripped open the envelope to see my new treasures.  I did not, repeat, did not foresee the tears/waterworks that came from holding those precious photos in my hand.

Dear Keilani Ricketts, I think all of us (watching the Women's Softball College World Series) would appreciate it if you stopped chomping your gum like a grazing cow.  Mmkay?  You are a total rock star, but you should mind yo manners on national television.

Dear Hubby, The other night when choosing a movie, you chose Tangled because you knew I would enjoy it.  You singing along was just icing on the cake.  Thank you for being adorable, and for being you.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Linking up with Megan for Dear Monday!
Dear Monday, I was awake before the alarm because of my sweet husband.  That and the fact that I couldn't breathe out of my nose.  Let's hope Tuesday is a little different.

Dear Mother's Day at Point No Point, With five adults and five (yes, five) crazy puppies - I don't think the trip and experience was as relaxing as any of us had hoped.  Little Maggie was trying to dig herself to China, Sonny wanted to play in the water (but was intimidated by the kelp), Teddy was/is a monster biatch, Brock is a big frothy beast, and Dexter is just an old fart trying to show off for the ladies.  I will remember it forever.

Dear Work, I am very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.  Change is good and I am embracing it.

Dear Albert Pujols, You will soon be in Seattle playing the Mariners.  If it begins to rain Monopoly money, all I have to say is - it was Ryan and I had nothing to do with it.

Dear NCAA Softball Selection Show, Just like during my first three years in college (unfortunately, not the fourth year) I tuned in last night to see how the NCAA Tournament bracket would look.  The amazing (and weird) part was that those old and familiar feelings of nervousness and anticipation were very much inside me.  Days like that, I miss the game very much.

Dear Hubs, This Mother's Day was just like the previous three - which meant you said to me, "I thought about getting you a Mothers Day present (from Brock and Sonny)... But I didn't."  You sure know how to make a lady feel special.  It's the thought that counts, right??

Take Luck,

Dear Monday

Monday is here.  Wah, wah.  Let's start the week off on the right foot with some letters with Megan!

Dear Monday, I'm tellin' ya - Monday mornings out of the office are the best.  I think they should be required.

Dear Sonny, Your poor little back has been hurting you for the last few days.  Your little whimpers just kill me because I don't know what to do for you.  If only you could talk instead of bear into my soul with your little eyes.

Dear Brock, I love how crazily you smell my clothes (and Sonny, too) after we've come home from the vet.  You are like an over-protective Dad who's wondering where his children have been.

Dear Tiff, You led me to a copy cat Panera recipe for their chicken noodle soup.  This just re-solidifies our already best friendship.

Dear Dexter Season 7, I am willing time to go faster simply to see how the major cliffhanger of Season 6 plays out.  Your series premiere on September 30 feels like eons away.

Dear Hubby, I cannot tell you how much I love it when you are in apprenticeship class versus working in the shop.  The amount of laundry that awaits me is much, much less.  And I love it.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Monday, Monday.  Time to write some letters for the week with Megan!

Dear Monday, All in all - you weren't so bad.  Although, maybe tomorrow I will sleep until the alarm goes off... And not be awake for the 45 minutes before.  That would be peachy.

Dear Friends Episode - "The One Where Phoebe Runs," You are by far one of my all-time favorite episodes.

Dear 7:30 PST, I cannot wait for you to be here.  That will officially bring the end to my semester.  I bet that our neighbors will hear my excessive chanting of hallelujahs.

Dear Baby Alexander, Thank you for letting me hold and snuggle your tiny sleeping body on Saturday night.  I needed that.

Dear Chimpanzee, I really want to watch you... And am probably going to need to bring a package of Kleenex.  I can't get through the trailer/preview without getting weepy.

Dear Hubby, Why, oh why must you have a game tonight at 9:30?  Don't these people know we get up early?!!!  Don't worry - I'll be home waiting for you... And keeping the bed warm.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

This is going to be a short edition of Dear Monday, people.  At 8:30pm, this is the first opportunity I have had all day to type... And it's past my bed time.

Let's get it going.  Time to write some letters with Megan!

Dear Monday, Mondays without coffee are never a good sign.  Somehow, we made it through together.

Dear Family BBQ, I'm not sure how, but we managed to get, mom and dad, all four kids (and their respective spouses/boyfriends), and all four grand-kids together and failed to get a picture?!  I have failed a major photography fail.

Dear Spring Semester, Only 11 more days.  That is all.

Dear Plum Crisp, I admit that I intentionally cut (and set aside) a larger piece for myself yesterday.  I just couldn't help it.  But you are so delicious, you understand.

Dear Sonny, You wrapped yourself around my back while I was watching class this evening... Like a little, miniature-spare-tire-heating-pad.

Dear Honey Bunches of Oats, Sometimes I want to smack you a little.  Mostly when you are deep in fantasy baseball and ignoring me/my questions.  But then I just sing show tunes really loudly and you eventually pay attention... Even if its just to tell me to be quiet.  I love you.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Weekends go way too fast.  Monday is here again.  Time to write some letters for the week with Megan!

Dear Monday, I totally had to shift my brain back into technical thinking mode today.  Strategic thinking and analytical/technical thinking are two very different things.

Dear Sonny, I love that I can tell how much you missed me by the amount of pee that comes out of you when I return home.  Your squeals and cries of happiness melt my heart.

Dear iPhone Auto Correct, Sometimes you are super helpful, while other times you are super not helpful.  Although entertaining...

Dear Rachel, I forgot how horrible it is to share a bed with you.  I was quickly reminded on Saturday night when you, Mom, and I all tried to squeeze together.  I think we all know who lost the battle for room and covers.  Me.

Dear Tulip Festival, I have never seen so many tulips in my life.

Dear Hubby, Yesterday I came home from a night away and found that you had vacuumed, unloaded the dishwasher, did the laundry, and did half of the preparations for making Brock's food.  I cannot thank you enough or tell you how much those little things mean to me.  There's hope for you yet, mister!

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

The glorious weekend flew by and it's already Monday again!  Time to write some letters with Megan!

Dear Monday, Mornings out of the office are the best.  If only every Monday could start out like that... And with a hot breakfast buffet, to boot!

Dear Favorite In-Laws, Not only are you my favorite because you are my only in-laws, but you truly are wonderful people.  We had such a good time with you last week and appreciated all you did for us while visiting.  I will always be grateful to you for raising such a wonderful son.

Dear Patience, Please come to me in mass quantities.  I'm going to need you!

Dear Muscles of my Body, Please. Stop. Hurting. Me.

Dear Easter Sunday Service, You by far surpassed any and all expectations I had.  Thank you!

Dear Spring Semester, Please be kind and make the next three weeks fly by.  And if you magically complete my team's System Engineering Management Plan project - I would be more than grateful.

Dear Rachel,  I am getting so excited to take some senior pictures of you.  You are so beautiful, and I cannot wait to put my creativity to work and capture your beauty in pictures!

Dear Hubby, Today I fell in love with you all over again.  You fill my heart and my life with joy.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Monday, again.  Time to write some letters with Megan.

Dear Monday, You flew by.  Marathon and back-to-back meetings will do that to ya.

Dear Hair, You have been seriously cooperative the last few days.  Let's keep it that way.

Dear Daddio, I will try not to hit you in the balls during batting practice tonight.

Dear Slowpitch Season, It is really hard to believe that you are upon us already.  A one-day tourney is scheduled for Saturday, and a part of me is hoping it gets rained out.  My body just isn't ready yet.

Dear Kennedy, On Friday you tried to remove my tattoo by licking your finger and vigorously rubbing it on the top of my foot.  That didn't work (shocking) so you tried using friction, in the form of Riley's hot wheel cars.  Needless to say, the tattoo remains.  Good try, little one.

Dear Tiff, Thank you so much for introducing me to Birdy.  She is just lovely.

Dear Hubby, Thank you for volunteering me to take you and Mat to the gym this morning.  At 5am.  You are a butthead, but I just can't say no when you turn on the charm.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

The weekends fly far too fast, bringing Monday's here way too soon.

Oh, well.  Time to write some letters with Megan!

Dear Monday, Five and a half hour meetings are just not cool.  Especially on a Monday.  OK, especially on any day.

Dear Sweet Puppy,  I know you will be the most perfect fit into the Haas family... Which is quickly becoming the House of Wieners.  You are so sweet and adorable, and now you just need a name!  You had a brother named Burrito, so I hope my suggestion of Quesadilla will be seriously considered.

Dear Pen in Laundry, I curse the day you were born... Er, manufactured!  Yes, it was my fault that I failed to check my own pockets pre-wash-and-dry, but why did you have to ruin so many good work clothes?

Dear Glorious Weather, Please, please, please stick around!

Dear Systems Engineering, I am trying very hard to stay motivated and keep a positive attitude but it is getting more and more challenging as we get closer to the semester's end.  The light is still looking small at the end of the tunnel.

Dear Hubby, Sometimes you go on a cleaning frenzy and it is totally out of the blue.  I appreciate these bursts more than I can say.  Plus, you look so cute with a Swiffer Duster in your hand.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Monday, again?  I guess so.  Time to write some letters with Megan.

Dear Monday, I would say that in comparison to my tear and doctor-filled last Monday, you weren't so bad.

Dear House Projects, You are seriously never ending.  Oh, the joys of being a home owner.

Dear Liam, I cannot wait to meet you.  Neither can your Uncle Ryan.

Dear Wallpaper Removal, I now consider you to be a form of torture.

Dear Academic Motivation, I still have seven weeks of school left.  You cannot fail me now!

Dear Dairy Queen, I may be treating myself to a miniature Oreo Blizzard this evening.  It will be my reward for sitting through class.

Dear Hubby, I just watched you try to get out of your stinky work clothes while keeping an iron-grip on the bag of Trader Joe's Spicy Soy & Flaxseed Tortilla Chips.  I far underestimated your talents.

Take Luck,
LP

Monday, March 12, 2012

Dear Monday

Monday, Monday.  Bleh.  Here are some letters to start the week with Megan!

Dear Monday, You began with tears.  And coughing.  A little gasping for air.  And an inner plea to magically feel better.

Dear Bronchitis, I really really dislike you.

Dear Prednisone, So we meet again.  We were grandly familiar with each other back in 2007, and I had hoped we would not cross paths again.  At least this time it's only for five days.

Dear #marchphotoaday, I couldn't help but double-check to make sure I saw today's photo challenge correctly, and then I saw that I was indeed correct.  It was easy to pull open our silverware drawer, but then I wondered - who really cares about pictures of forks?

Dear Kennedy, I cannot believe you are four.  I hope you do not wish to have any more birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese.

Dear Baby Shower, I'd say that you were a great success.  I planned for 20 and only 10 showed up - but better than the other way around!

Dear "Spring Break," I really wish that this meant I got a week off of work too.  Darnit!

Dear Doctor Hubby, Sometimes you are really good at making me feel better, and sometimes you make me want to punch you.  For example, when you tuck me in and give me some juice and a sweet kiss - this is good.  When you tell me, "You'll be ok, I've felt worse than this before..." - this is not good (refer to the punching scenario).  I appreciate your efforts, and love you all the same.  Maybe more.

Take Luck,
LP

Dear Monday

Weekends go by too fast.  Not that I don't enjoy writing these letters.  Still.  Too fast.

Time to write some letters for the week with Megan!

Dear Monday, I spent most of the day making phone calls, which is totally out of the ordinary for me.  Talking about obsolescence management and babies sure makes the day go by fast.

Dear Garage Door Opener, Please start magically working.  It is a pain in the hieny to back out the Subie, put it in park, get out of the Subie, run back into the garage, slap the button, run and hurdle the garage door sensor (paying close attention not to hit my head on the lowering door), and get back in the Subie.  Get it together!

Dear Daddy-O, I am sorry you are sick.  I think you need a "Get Well Soon" video from the little people.  It sure seemed to help Rachel!

Dear Monday Night Class, I loathe thee.

Dear House Projects, Why do you seem never-ending?  Oh, that's right.  Because you are.

Dear Favorite Mother and Father-in-Law, You will be visiting us in 25 days!  Who's ready for Mexican Train Dominoes?  We are!

Dear Hubby, This afternoon you found out that you get to watch the Cardinals play tomorrow on MLB TV.  If I hadn't heard you screaming, "I get to watch the Cardinals game, babe!  I get to watch the Cardinals game, babe!" I would have thought you were jumping up and down because you had won something important.

Take Luck,
LP
